La historia

On Friday evening, Diego calls his sister Marisol. He wants to make a plan for the weekend because their parents are visiting on Sunday. Diego says, “Are you available Saturday afternoon?” Marisol checks her calendar. She has a class in the morning, but she is free after 1:00. Diego suggests going to the market together to buy fruit, bread, and flowers for their parents.

Marisol likes the idea, but she checks the weather on her phone. Rain is possible after 4:00, so she says, “Let’s meet at the market at 1:30. We can finish before the rain.” Diego agrees. He asks if she can bring a reusable bag because he only has one. Marisol says she has two bags and will bring both of them. They decide to meet in front of the coffee shop near the market entrance.

Saturday afternoon is cloudy but dry. Diego arrives at 1:25 and waits outside the coffee shop. Marisol arrives with the two bags at 1:30. They buy oranges, bread, flowers, and a small card. At 3:15, the first rain begins, but they are already on the bus home. Diego sends their parents a message: “We are ready for tomorrow. See you at noon.” Marisol smiles because their simple plan worked well.
