La historia

Lina and her family plan to meet at Riverside Park on Sunday afternoon. Her sister Ana brings her two children, and Lina’s parents bring sandwiches and fruit. Lina is taking the train, so Ana sends a message: “Meet us at the north entrance at 1:30. We will be near the playground.” Lina saves the message on her phone and checks the park map before leaving home.

The train arrives a few minutes late, but Lina reaches the park at 1:25. At the north entrance, she sees a large fountain, two paths, and many families. She cannot see Ana right away, so she calls her. Ana says, “Walk past the fountain. We are on the grass with a blue blanket.” Lina follows the path and hears the children laughing near the playground.

Lina finds her family under a tree. Her father is cutting apples, and the children are playing with a ball. Lina puts a bottle of water and a bag of cookies on the blanket. After lunch, they take turns watching the children on the playground. Before they leave, Lina asks, “Should we meet here again next Sunday?” Her parents agree, and Ana says she will bring a ball and extra juice next time.
